American Insurance Agency, LLC has been in the insurance business since 1987 in one form or another. The agency was founded by Karl Chelgren doing business as Karl Chelgren Insurance and then changed entity to its current name and form in 1995. We opened the doors as a one-person shop, but soon began to add employees.

Since its founding, we have always felt that we were here to give our customers the best possible coverage at the best possible price. We adopted a motto that had been handed down by Karl’s father who owned a butcher shop in Pennsylvania: “It Would Please Us to Please You.” We take that motto seriously.

Our agents and staff are all licensed and knowledgeable in their respective areas. They all take pride in their work and try hard to give the best possible service. We would like the opportunity to compete for your insurance business. You can contact us by phone or email.

Recently, we expanded into Washington, Nevada, California, and Arizona where we hold Non-Resident Licenses to sell Property and Casualty Insurance. While we can write all lines in those states, we have particular expertise in insuring tow truck operations , restaurants, taverns, and Hard-to-Place ventures.
